Some art speaks to the eyes, but some reaches the heart. That is what Miriam Schnyder set out to achieve when she founded Art X on Glass AG in Switzerland. For her, glass is not just a surface that reflects light, but a living canvas that holds stories, memories, and emotions.

At the center of her work lies a belief that art should feel personal. Each piece created by Art X on Glass AG is hand-painted and carries the uniqueness of its owner. Whether it is the warmth of love, the quiet strength of friendship, or the weight of sorrow, these emotions take shape in stained glass. Every curve of color and stroke of pattern is designed to connect with the human spirit, turning an ordinary wall or window into something unforgettable.

Miriam’s vision has built more than a company. It has created a community of artists who share her passion for bold expression and creative freedom. Together, they craft works that spark inspiration and leave a lasting presence in homes, galleries, and public spaces. Under her leadership, creativity flows freely, uniting craftsmanship with storytelling in ways that touch people deeply.

What makes Art X on Glass AG remarkable is not just its artistry, but its purpose. Miriam sees her work as a way to spread joy and remind people of beauty in its purest form. Each creation carries a heartbeat of its own, inviting connection and reflection.

Through her journey, Miriam has shown that glass is more than art. It is emotion, memory, and experience, captured in color and light.

From Pharma to Glass: The Journey of a Visionary Leader

Miriam Schnyder’s path began in familiar corporate territory. After earning her bachelor’s degree at the University of Zürich, she launched her career at Hoffmann-La Roche in Basel. That experience grounded her in structure and excellence. Yet somewhere in the balance of lab work and spreadsheets, she discovered that glass held more than reflection, it held possibility. She returned to school, earned an Executive MBA from the University of Zürich, and committed herself fully to her original vision.

She transformed from a corporate employee into a self-employed entrepreneur whose responsibility truly knows no bounds. That leap set the foundation for Art X on Glass AG, a platform where emotional expression meets structural discipline and corporate rigor supports creative freedom.

Forging a Unique Path in a Male-Dominated Industry

Women leaders often face challenges in gaining recognition. Miriam encountered those challenges directly in Switzerland’s business world. Her response was not to imitate existing models but to rediscover and lean into her true self. She focused on delegation, trust, and building a framework where accountability exists without restraining creative momentum.

Her leadership today spans three businesses, the SCHNYDER Group Holding, SCHNYDER Glasworld GmbH, and Art X on Glass AG. She has surrounded herself with peers she trusts, including Yasmin Gressel, the CEO of SCHNYDER Glasworld GmbH, a mentor she acknowledges as instrumental in shaping her professional journey.

Reverse Glass Painting: Emotion Framed in Glass

Art X on Glass is built around a deceptively simple yet profoundly powerful technique, reverse glass painting. The artwork is painted on one side of the glass and viewed from the other. It demands precision and intention at every layer, but it produces depth and visual dynamism that few mediums achieve.

Each piece changes as light and perspective shift. A shower wall, for instance, might appear soft and diffused in morning light, then vibrant and bold at night. In this way, the glass itself becomes a collaborator rather than just a canvas.

Crafting Emotion and Story Through Each Piece

Art is more than decoration for Miriam. It is storytelling, emotion made tangible. Each piece is handcrafted and infused with narrative. Love, hope, sadness, despair, every feeling that moves us finds expression in the work.

The company thrives as a community of artists motivated not by fleeting trends but by emotional connection. Every painting becomes an opportunity to invite wonder, to pause, to breathe, and to recognize a personal story reflected back.

Intimate Art: Pieces That Reside in Real Life

These artworks move into the rhythm of everyday life, not only gallery walls. They appear as backsplashes, shower panels, tabletops, and standalone wall art. Each installation creates small but meaningful encounters with beauty. This intimacy fosters a bond between client and creation. Clients are not merely buying decor; they are embracing another layer of meaning woven into their lives. That bond builds loyalty, because when art becomes part of daily routine, it becomes part of identity.

Exclusivity by Design

Every work at Art X on Glass is entirely unique. Each brushstroke, each emotion captured, each refraction of light is unrepeatable. This is not a marketing claim of scarcity but the natural outcome of the creative process.

Buyers do not simply purchase an artwork; they invest in an exclusive story held within glass. Demand is managed both through an online platform and through bespoke commissions, ensuring the process remains personal and intentional.

Balancing Tradition and Innovation

Miriam respects tradition through manual layering, rhythm, and craft. At the same time, she explores innovation by experimenting with gold leaf, exploring diverse color palettes, and envisioning furniture integrated with reverse glass painting.

She welcomes technology as a tool, though she believes it can never replace handcrafted emotion. Her work builds the future while preserving the uniqueness that defines the present.

Global Vision Rooted in Authenticity

Her ambitions extend worldwide. Art X on Glass is more than a Swiss enterprise. It is a brand she hopes to see present in art fairs, homes, and collections across continents. Her guiding principle, “live and let live” (“Leben und leben lassen”), defines both her business and her brand. She wants people to feel it is right to be unique. Through this, she hopes to inspire a movement that values authenticity over conformity and connection over repetition.
