Zoorya: Ethiopia’s New All-in-One Business Automation Platform Goes Live

Zoorya

In a groundbreaking initiative, Ethio telecom, Dashen Bank, and ETTA Solutions have jointly launched “Zoorya,” a comprehensive business automation solution designed to transform how enterprises operate in Ethiopia. Officially unveiled today, Zoorya seamlessly integrates Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Point of Sale (POS), and Cash Register systems into a single, unified platform. The new system is aimed at revolutionizing operations for sectors such as hospitality, import/export, manufacturing, and retail by boosting efficiency, enabling data-driven decisions, and improving customer satisfaction.

Built for Speed, Security, and Local Needs

What makes Zoorya especially impactful is its focus on fast, secure, and contactless transactions—a crucial step toward a cashless society. As a locally developed solution, Zoorya is tailored to Ethiopia’s unique business landscape. The platform ensures transparent operations and supports seamless business transactions, giving companies the tools they need to modernize and compete in the digital economy.

Seamless Payment Integration

Zoorya supports all domestic and international payment cards and provides a fiscal accounting service certified by Ethiopia’s Ministry of Revenues. Merchants benefit from a consolidated receipt feature, where all payment details are captured in a single document, making financial tracking simpler and more accurate. This integration aims to eliminate friction in daily transactions while ensuring full compliance with tax regulations.

The Role of the Founding Partners

Each partner in this historic project brings critical value:

  • ETTA Solutions is the developer behind Zoorya, creating an innovative solution designed for Ethiopian businesses.
  • Ethio telecom plays a dual role, hosting the platform on its TeleCloud infrastructure and integrating it with telebirr, its mobile payment system with over 54 million users. It will also lead promotion and distribution across sectors.
  • Dashen Bank, known for digital banking leadership, will offer foreign currency services to import necessary hardware and launch a Buy Now, Pay Later financing model. Additionally, it will integrate Zoorya with its own payment services, simplifying usage for merchants.

Scalable and Instant Deployment

Zoorya is engineered for quick deployment, allowing merchants to complete setup in under one minute. Built on cloud technology, the platform is designed to scale effortlessly—businesses can start small and add more branches as they grow, without technical hurdles.

Aiming for 10,000+ Merchants

Looking ahead, the three organizations plan to extend Zoorya to over 10,000 merchants within two years. Their goal is not just to improve efficiency, but also to promote financial inclusion and support Ethiopia’s digital transformation. Through this collaboration, Zoorya represents a major step forward in reshaping how business is done in the country.
