Carmen Andrade, one-half of the TikTok-famous conjoined twins, confirmed that she has quietly tied the knot with her boyfriend, Daniel McCormack. In an interview published by TODAY.com on July 10, the 25-year-old revealed, “We eloped in October, with our families.” The private ceremony took place on Lover’s Leap Bridge in New Milford, Connecticut, a picturesque location fitting the intimate nature of the wedding.
From Hinge to “I Do”
Carmen and Daniel first connected on the dating app Hinge in 2020. Their relationship blossomed over time, and they eventually decided to take the next step. The couple, along with Carmen’s conjoined twin sister Lupita, shared the wedding news in a recent YouTube video titled “Overdue Update!” In the video, Carmen casually announced, “We should probably also address something else pretty big—I did get married.”
Family-Only Wedding
Daniel, 28, emphasized that their wedding was kept intentionally small. “We just had local family,” he said. “As in, not the extended family. I don’t like those weddings where they invite, like, the third cousin twice removed. I’m sorry, but great uncle Patrick, who I haven’t seen since I was three, you’re not worth a seat at my table, I’m sorry.” The focus was on close connections, not tradition or scale.
A Non-Traditional Look
Carmen chose to wear a sparkling, floor-length emerald green gown, straying from the typical white wedding dress. “It was very pretty,” she shared, adding that the autumn backdrop enhanced the look. “I did not wear white. Don’t regret it. I don’t like white. Not my thing.” In the video, photos from the celebration showed Daniel in a classic tuxedo with a dark green bowtie to match Carmen’s gown.
Clarifying the Marriage
As Carmen and Daniel reminisced about their big day, Carmen made sure to clear up any misconceptions about the marriage involving her sister. “Before anybody gets it twisted: We got married,” she said, gesturing to herself and Daniel. Then, pointing to herself and Lupita, she added, “But we did not get married.” This clarification aimed to avoid confusion about the logistics of their unique situation.
Lupita’s Perspective
Lupita, who identifies as asexual, expressed no desire for marriage. “I don’t want to get married,” she said simply. “Because I don’t want to.” Despite being physically connected, the twins maintain distinct identities, preferences, and personal choices, something they’ve emphasized repeatedly across interviews and social media platforms.
How Carmen Knew Daniel Was Different
In a previous interview with TODAY in 2023, Carmen opened up about how she identified Daniel as someone genuinely different. “I got a lot of messages from guys with fetishes,” she recalled. “I knew right off the bat that Daniel was different from the others because he didn’t lead with a question about my condition. I have social anxiety, and I’ve ended up canceling dates at the last minute, but I felt calm on the way there.”
The couple’s story has drawn widespread interest not just for its uniqueness, but for its authenticity, intimacy, and quiet defiance of stereotypes.
